Automaker Volkswagen AG has unveiled its first electric crossover called ID.4., which can travel 400 km on a single charge.
Automaker Volkswagen AG has introduced its first electric car, which is capable of driving 400 km on a charged battery with a capacity of 82 kilowatts per hour. The manufacturer gave his short name, giving the electric car the name ID.4. and will sell its basic version for $40,000.
Initially, Volkswagen's electric crossover will be available only in the United States, where owners of the novelty will be allowed to recharge the car for free at specialized Electrify America stations for three years. A full charge at these stations is said to take just 38 minutes.
ID.4. as standard will be equipped with a recuperation system, a touch screen on the front panel, as well as a voice and gesture control interface. The first electric crossovers VW model ID.4. will go on sale in the first half of next year. The previous model of the electric car of the same automaker ID3 is already on sale in European countries.
